Our Community

Recognizing that the role of a hospital extends beyond the physical walls, University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center strengthens communities through its outreach programs. By combining lectures, wellness events, health fairs, free screenings and support groups, UM BWMC offers programs that promote good health practices and disease prevention. UM BWMC is also home to the county’s only Stork’s Nest program, providing prenatal education and support for underserved and at-risk pregnant women and their babies. Many programs and services are a collaborative effort with community organizations, corporations and volunteers who have made a similar commitment to making health a priority.
